the whole point is to have photos to look back on at night after your kids go to bed. to have photos to remind you, five (and ten, and twenty) years after your wedding, of how richly you felt love that day. to have photos up on your wall that make you feel light and joy amidst the everyday chaos. that's the whole point.

I'm Claire! I'm a lot of things: an easy-laugher, a wife and mom, a coffee-drinker, a radio lover, frequent dancer, and gangster of love.
I have too many tabs open and too many books checked out from the library. I do this job because I love it and it's an utter gift to be able to do it professionally. I used my fair share of disposable cameras when I was a kid but was too shy to ask to take people's pictures until I was a full grown adult. I've got two kids and my husband is my second camera and assistant on wedding days. I'm a morning person who loves a good nap. My superpower is knowing when to step in and direct a situation and when to let emotions unfold.

my family sessions are best suited to parents who know that this season of life is short, that the days are long and a lot of fun, that scroll back through photos of their kids after bedtime. the families that really, really, really love each other.
for moms who take getting 'proof-of-mom' seriously (but not too seriously), for kids who laugh and stomp their feet and splash and need snack breaks and giggle and shriek.
my approach to families is candid and flexible--I make sure to get the photo that will go over your mantle (or in the kitchen, or on your desk) but I also get all the moments in between.
I've worked with kids of all ages for over 15 years. I encourage kids to take breaks to play, run, and get energy out during family photo sessions. we're not above bribery, but by the end of the session, most kids are sad it's over!

the most important thing a wedding photographer can remember is to pack plenty of batteries. the second most important thing to remember is that the photos support the wedding, not the other way around.
my couples usually think the most important things at their wedding are good food, good friends, gettin' hitched, and good photos to remember it by after.
my approach to covering a wedding day is a mix of candid and classic, with emphasis on working efficiently and unobtrusively (family photos are priceless, but spending more than 20 minutes on them is not) and observation (so I don't miss a moment). you can expect a gallery that's rich with the emotion of the day, while still getting to attend your own cocktail hour.
